Originally formed in Santa Monica as remnants of the band Opal, Mazzy Star was led by David Roback’s friend Hope Sandoval after Kendra Smith left the group in 1988. The band is iconic and has written many memorable songs including ‘Fade Into You’.
The song reached silver certification in the United Kingdom getting over 200,000 sales and peaked at number 3 in Iceland. It was also part of the album ‘So Tonight That I Might See,’ which luckily for us reached over 1 million copies sold in the United States and gained platinum status.
I want to hold the hand inside you
I want to take the breath that’s true I look to you, and I see nothing I look to you to see the truthYou live your life, you go in shadows
You’ll come apart, and you’ll go black Some kind of night into your darkness Colors your eyes with what’s not thereFade into you
Strange you never knew Fade into you I think it’s strange you never knewA stranger’s light comes on slowly
A stranger’s heart without a home You put your hands into your head And then smiles cover your heartFade into you
Strange you never knew Fade into you I think it’s strange you never knewFade into you
Strange you never knew Fade into you I think it’s strange you never knewI think it’s strange you never knew
